OK so everyone in our neighborhood has lights up on their houses for Christmas, as well as a lot of other really obnoxious decorations- I have never understood giant, inflatable, snow globes that swallow up your entire yard. Do you really need Snoopy or Jeff Gordons car larger then life in your front yard? anyway we decided to join the "fun" and throw some lights on out house. I have a really hard time doing this since it never feels like Christmas down here to me- Palm trees and Santa don't mix. We had some lights left over from our wedding reception and decided to put them up.
This is me "risking my life" as Heather would say, putting up the lights. Our friends are borrowing our ladder so I said no big deal, I'll just wheel over the trash can and put the step stool on top of it to get up on top- Heather thought that I would surely break my arm in a bloody fall- It was really quite funny.

Here it is all finished- It looks a little hokey and I think I need to go get some more lights to line the rest of the roofline with, but this is as decorated as it gets- Grass doesn't grow candy canes and I'm not a redneck with a snowglobe.

hahahha dan that is awesome.. but does look like you are walking a tight rope... use a ladder next time instead of hanging on for dear life with a bear hug!

i'm all about the simple decorations. much classier. i love the lights. and tell heather not to worry about you risking your life. i'm sure you got plenty of practice climbing out of your 2nd story bedroom window.
