SURPRISE!!!
So this past weekend my mom was walking the Salt Lake City Half Marathon as kind of celebratory way of saying that she has made it back from fighting cancer. This marathon was a pretty big deal to her and all of her children were going to be there except for me. Kelli and Scott live in town and Maren had flown in from California so that she could run it as well. I wouldn't have missed it for the world, but i wanted to surprise her. I drove up and spent Friday with Scott and even gave my mom a phone call while I was at Scott's to wish her good luck and let her know that I'd be thinking about her. Saturday morning Kelli dropped Maren and my mom off at the finish line and then I met her, Ryan and Leah at my mom's house and we drove downtown to get set up at the finish line. Scott and family met us there. when it was time for my mom to finish she had given Kelli a call to let her know that she was getting close. Kelli asked her if she could walk the final part of it with her. She met her at a brake in the fence up the path from me and Scott, Maren and their families went a little further down the course. I was planning on getting video of the whole thing and then really surprising her after she had totally finished but she recognized me out of the crowd. The video is a short low quality (the only kind I could get to load on the blog) of that exchange- Pretty cool. Then there are some pics from after she finished. Congrats Shmoj!!!

Great Balls of Fur
So it has been starting to warm up quite a bit down here and our furry little kids have decided to spread a thin layer of fur over our entire yard and all through their room. I finally had had enough and went to town with the brushes and assorted shedding tools. Here is the end result....
Cat Nap
Heather Hears a "Horton"
So Heather has had this whole week off for spring break and has been trying to find things to do. She was invited to go and see some dude try to break the world record for surrounding an elephant in a bubble. The elephants name is Ty and he lives on an elephant farm in Perris. I guess he has done movies and commercials, but this was his first time in a bubble. Just a side note- Perris, CA is obviously not Paris France but they are alike in a way- English is the second language in both cities. But while Paris France is full of people who are lazy and hate Americans, Perris, CA is full of Illegals who love Americans because we give them food stamps and free medical care. It truly is a third world country out there.
Anyway back to the elephant- Here are some pics
Some of the other elephants in their "Cage"... I totally think the baby could pull a "stop, drop, and roll" and be out into the free in like 2.3 seconds
I was disappointed when Heather told me that she didn't get to ride him- They do it in India all the time!
This is a pic of the bubble about half way up... I know it looks like plastic but he really did it. Now he has the distinction of having his name in the record books listed as "the loser that had nothing better to do with his time than to put things inside bubbles"
It's all still a little weird to me.

6 lives
So recently I have been worrying about Scoresby's well being, because she seems to like to jump the fence into the dogs room and see if she can make it out without them eating her. Sometimes we will walk into the room and notice her huddled in a corner or under the dogs food bowls trying to hide. Other times we will wake up to hissing noises followed by a frantic scamper and a flying ball of fur (Scoresby) soaring over the gate to the safety of the master bedroom. Sometimes she hasn't quite made it in time and Guinness has grabbed her by the neck and tossed her out. I really think she has used a couple of her 9 lives and is probably at about 6 by our best estimates.
Recently though she surprised us both when we found her just chilling on the chest watching over the dogs as they went about their business
