Fire's in SoCal

As most of you probably know a large portion of southern California is on fire and has been since late Sunday night. Most of you have called to check in and see how things are going and this is the easiest way I have to get back in touch with all of you at once and let you know how things are going. For the most part we haven't been in any immediate danger but as of this afternoon things have become a little more serious as the mountain directly behind our house decided to catch fire. I don't know how this one started as it is not connected to any of the others but nothing surprises me any more. The pictures below are all taken from our home.

This was a shot taken yesterday (Tuesday) looking directly south. This fire is the Pala fire and is threatening Temecula.

This was also taken on Tuesday looking off to the Southwest. This ridge of mountains curves around close to the west of our home (as pictured below). I'm not sure what they are calling this fire but it is separate from the Pala fire.

This was a picture early this morning (Wednesday) looking south-southwest at the combining smoke from the Pala and second fires.

This is the latest- A third fire directly to the west of our home that cropped up this afternoon. The base of the mountain is less than a half a mile from our back yard.

I just saw some planes fly overhead with retardants so hopefully they will be able to get things under control before the winds spread the fire more. As of now I don't think we will be evacuated- but we are not taking anything lightly with all that we have seen so far. I will post another update as I know more.
