A trip to Ron Burgandy's town

So while Leah and her parents were down, we decided to make the short trip down to San Diego to see some sights. We had Breakfast/Lunch and the Wave House at Mission Beach then we went down to the harbor and saw some old ships and ended up touring the S.S. Midway aircraft carrier/ battleship. It was a really fun day capped off that night by root beer floats to celebrate Maren's B-Day.

All of us at Mission Beach (Leah is in her stroller below....We wouldn't ever forget about her)

This is the Star of India. It was a pretty cool ship and there were 5 other ships that you could tour through for $13 (the sub in the background was part of it). We were debating whether to tour these or go down to the aircraft carrier and the ticket lady said that the carrier was $15 for "Just one big gray boat". Needless to say we were happy we went to see the Midway, even if it was just a big gray boat.

Maren and Leah in the cockpit of an old plane

Leah liked to play with everything and was apparently fascinated with the headlight in the wing of this plane.

About half way though the tour we got bored and decided to go to bed bath and beyond because Maren needed to pick up a new KitchenAid Mixer for their apartment. She needed to have it shipped because it didn't fit in their car.

My Top Gun moment- Just call me Maverick

Ryan was in heaven with all the planes around- We could have spent a lot longer there but they kicked us out at closing time.

Heather out on the landing deck of the ship- The ship was in operation until 1992 and was part of the Gulf War. It was a pretty neat part of history.

Heather and I just can't seen to stay out of trouble- We got sent to the Brig.

Manning the controls in the engine room- Leah was such a trooper, we miss her already!
