Dog Days of Summer

Ok so its been well into the triple digits down here and while the dogs have a kiddie pool full of ice water and plenty of shade, we still felt bad for them and wanted to figure out a way for them to enjoy our wonderful air conditioner without destroying our house.

We have a room off of our bedroom that the builder calls a "Master Retreat". Since we don't really need to retreat anywhere we decided to buy a doorway fence that is usually for toddlers to close off the entry from the retreat to our bedroom. We figured that they could play in that room and not do any damage- Here are the highlights!

As you can tell Bailey was very excited to see that she was going to be let inside

Guinness was a little more curiously optimistic

They both like tricks- Guinness shakes my hand...

...Gives Heather hugs...

...And just looks cute!

Bailey on the other hand is quite different- She will beg...

Then catch stuffed animals out of the air

Then tear them to shreds (look at the smiling dog as Bailey whips him around by the ear!)

She also likes to herd Heathers feet - Guess that's the Queensland Heeler in her, she doesn't have any cattle around to herd so she opts for our feet instead.

All the while Scoresby likes to keep watch on the dogs to make sure they don't get too out of control.....

....And she likes to attack lamps and other stationary objects!

I guess I'll be content with these "grandchildren" for awhile. But you can check out my blog for some of the real grandkids.
